Newbie
Not Noobie (Inside joke to about ten million). Transported from the Republic of California to Hoosier land. Which I love. The people here are great and except for January and February the even the weather's pretty good. I actually have no problems presently with the statists. Been under the radar. Years ago had lots of problems with traffic tickets, but only lost one case. The one where I was still naive enough to be flabbergasted that a cop would get up and testilie. The straight up perjury floored me and I lost my concentration and the case. Of course when it hits you in the face that police will lie through their teeth to make sure that you get hit with a bogus $42 ticket, it makes you wonder long and hard about what they'll say when it's a real crime. One where they need to "find the perp". I want to say and I even want to believe that most of these people are well intentioned but misinformed "public servants" who are trying their best to do the right thing. However, I have yet to meet one of these people.

Re: Newbie
Was only peripherally aware of the free state project before the move. Pretty aware and informed, possibly over informed, on the multitude of (to borrow from SamIam) the obscured truth. Have greatly enjoyed Marc's take on things. I moved here, mainly due to housing prices. 1/3 what I was paying before to own instead of rent. Yes I'm aware of the many arguments on that issue, but the one that affects me most directly is someone who thinks that because they have the mortgage note in their name, their allowed to come snoop on your living arrangements every 2-3 months. Always a different excuse to get in. Always the same reason; to get you out. FRN's aren't good enough for some people. You need to be the "right " kind of person individual (Old habits on the person thing die hard). Disabled people are never the "right" kind of people. I've been considering the NH thing. To Hell with trying to sell, but haven't seen anything in my price range. Where have you guys been looking for housing? Any ideas on alternative building methods and how much of a problem it would be in NH? Like I said before, I try to to just stay off the screen. I'm certain that I'm on any number of federal watch lists. Pretty sure that simply reading this site puts you on one. That however is not information that is readily accessible by the local gang in blue. They are the ones that are going to give the most hassles, even in a crackdown situation. I prefer avoidance. As Mr. Miyagi said the best way to block a punch is to not be there when it comes. AiLL has some great info on damage control when it has landed but in the end not being hit is the best choice.
p.s. There's another Hoosier Land to choose from? |

:eekeek:
![]() Then again, who isn't on a federal watch list these days? Welcome to the bored benadrit If government services were valuable and the market wanted them, they wouldn't be provided on a compulsory basis. |
