feeding trolls
We've recently had practically a take-over of the forum by a poster going by the name "malinson". This malinson baited several people and was the focus for a few weeks. I've banned the user, and want to ask every one to not post anything about this former member and to just let it go.
What I will respond to is the claim I have been dishonest because I and others have been successful in court. It is not because of a "loop-hole" or because I am better at scamming the scammers. It is because not having a seatbelt on is not a crime. There is no crime or action unless a "right" has been invaded and there is an injury. Malinson believes it is OK to kill innocent people to provide services. Obviously he is in need of psychiatric help beyond what we can provide here. Someone with such beliefs probably needs to go to Vienna and be observed by a team of professionals. If government services were valuable and the market wanted them, they wouldn't be provided on a compulsory basis. |

Re: feeding trolls
*cough* On a serious note, THANK YOU, Marc for politely and firmly addressing this issue, and responding to the so-called "challenge" that was directed at you in an attempt to undermine your world-changing work. Keep it up, and on behalf of some of the other "veteran" AiLLers, sorry for not "taking a vacation" sooner... <-- hey, there's a new Code Phrase for us to use the next time a troll comes a-knocking (don't bother talking!) "Hey [forum member that took the bait], isn't it time for a VACATION?"

Re: feeding trolls
wow! ..and i was sticking up 4 'em. But i guess it was due to reading very few of his post/threads.
was wondering why everyone was so hard on that guy. He obviously buried himself. I'd like to have seen a simpler deflation of his stance though. because after all, why do we turn on each other? was he protectin' his millions? was he awarded a yacht by one of the demonic masterminds?? Doh! didn't marc just say don't bother? the life of a spy is dumb |

Re: feeding trolls
I can't speak for others because I haven't asked them or can guess what they were thinking, of course, but I, for one, wasn't being baited, I was merely doing research to be used in the future in one way or another.
If anyone knows where M uses the word "kill" or indirectly implies M "believes it is OK to kill innocent people to provide services," please private message me the link for that. Or if M implies it by falling silent to a question and, in that way, makes that admission. Don't post this info. to respect Marc's wishes, PM me. Thanks. I think it was inevitable that people like M would come here, and will come in the future. The value of this has been that, now, anyone who recognizes another potential M can write, "You sound like M, please go read M's posts and the replies, before you go on any further." |

Agreed, although perhaps a better suggestion is to PM that user, and post "anyone up for a Vacation?" in the forum

Re: feeding trolls
Also, to say it was a "take-over" strokes M's ego. That's what M wants to believe. To put it in Kurt's words:
"We're all here voluntarily and no one is keeping any of us here, including you [M]. Besides, you could just stay while everyone puts you on ignore" See: http://www.adventuresinlegalland.com/in ... pic,280.0/ Everyone was free to ignore M, but chose not to. They did because they found doing so fun or challenging or infuriating in a pleasureable sort of way. A new experience. In fact, if not banned, M would more than likely still be posting for as long as it took until everyone stop posting replies. Why else would M come back three times? First, after the Use of Force thread, then, with the fake "My Apology," and then, with I don't recall what it was. Oh yeah, "War to End All Wars," as if M imagined M-self in some kind of cosmic battle. A mole, who Iâll also call, "a termite," knows blueprints can be used to build with after tearing down a home. A termite comes as one of legions eating away with the hope, if they eat long enough, the house falls due to their little munchie cravings. Donât expect truth when you read a termite-mole-agentâs posts, all your get is F.U.B.A.R., which means anything âF**ked Up Beyond All Recognition.â Can they come over from the Dark Side of their Farce, over to the good, Light side of the Force? Maybe, someday. I know for a fact that some forum members are former agents, now unplugged, having realized their past was a world of sin. How? They tell me so. âMy name is Legion, for we are many.â â a demonâs refrain |

Agent 86 Wrote:Marc refuses to talk to me after receiving one answer to a question?!? How ridicules is this? Well, if the question was "Should products and services be provided at the barrel of a gun?" and your answer was "Yes", then I can see why Marc refused to carry on any further conversation. If you think it is necessary to provide services at gun point, how ridiculous is that? |

Re: feeding trolls
3rdear Wrote:If the question was "Should products and services be provided at the barrel of a gun?" and your answer was "Yes", then I can see why Marc refused to carry on any further conversation. hey folks, here is an article on an Objectivism site that discusses "sanctions", thought it's on topic with "shunning" etc. by a group/community in response to undesired behaviour from a member (or potential one) -- as a more moral alternative to the use of force. TBH, the article is less about "exercising a sanction" and more about "not giving an endorsement" -- but when it comes to an online forum community discussing details and conclusions based on a non-coercive premise, I'm thinking it's fair to say that the more attention we give to the "less lynching is better than no lynching" min-archist POVs, the more we are essentially sanctioning a "less immoral, but still immoral" set of ideas. Whereas, if we denounce the immoral basis as being immoral -- even if the response is name-calling and strawman attacks and other logical fallacies -- then at least our consciences are clear in that we are maintaining our integrity when it comes to the very foundation of a voluntary society. ps: apologies for all the "we" verbiage

Re: feeding trolls
I'm amazed that everyone is so upset with Malintent86 being here and yet most of these same people continue to feed him. Boggles the mind. I would say that he is obviously supporting some need of some of "us." (sadly)

Hey Kurt, Marc, most everyone else: the latest Tom Cruise film "Lions for Lambs" seems to disagree with you about what is the fundamental question of our time... :O |

I had to watch to the very end to get what you were talking about DD. ;D If government services were valuable and the market wanted them, they wouldn't be provided on a compulsory basis. |
