The thought of how far the human race would have advanced absent initiatory force
staggers the imagination.

THE POINT: Unlike the government thief, a common thief doesn't claim his "craft" is honest.
Lawyer-like dishonesty a point: The common thief is honest when he tells you he's robbing you.

Good thing, I certainly don't have the voice for radioBig Grin

If government services were valuable and the market wanted them, they wouldn't be provided on a compulsory basis.

Here's a link to the archives of the Agora I/O conference from last March: http://agora.io/etienne/archives/

Here's a link to Marc's talk last Friday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSZebb3Cc9g

georgedonnelly's Channel has about seven from this past weekends conference. Look for the uploads of the last few days. http://www.youtube.com/user/georgedonnelly

Thanks. I don't have the bandwidth for video of any length. I tried converting to MP3 but all of the converters I tried (which work for me on other stuff) choked on the video file of Marc's talk. Oh well.

RE: Marc speaking now at Agora I/O
Another stellar soliloquy from Marc. I loved it when he called out NonE. Tounge I'm not sure he was joking. Only 61 YouTube views makes me sad. I guess people don't have time for such trifles when there's "lol cats" and "dramatic groundhog" videos to watch.

He's noble enough to know what's right
But weak enough not to choose it
He's wise enough to win the world
But fool enough to lose it

I'm not sure either. This is the first time I've heard Marc comment on my comment. My comment was meant as a compliment. I noted that Marc was true to his principles by not invoking the government to protect his "intellectual property." Hardly anyone has such a level of integrity. That one fact made a HUGE impression on me. Marc deserves respect for that integrity, and if my comment was harmful to his "bottom line," I'm sorry, but my respect remains.

"Effective Damage Control"
I have a 32kbps/15meg mp3 audio file if someone wants a copy [optionally, I can also do a 16kbps (lower quality, smaller file size) rip if desired]. PM me.

meanwhile, listening to the NonE smack-down meyeself... meye2 cents worth: Marc is serious --butt eye2 disagree (doG I hate being in alignment with the likes of NonE... j/k), and would simply ask that he prove a factual injury? He uses the word "stolen"; I want factual proof (rather than opinion?) of his alleged loss i.e. he still has his book/copy; that said, I too genuinely respect his position regarding it being what it is i.e. a digital era reality, and deeply appreciate his rejection of using an arm(s) of The State to in-force his opinion/position
(on the issue/opinion of lost revenue, my position is the remedy for that is: don't use the technology aka keep 'it' to/'in' your 'self' control, otherwise, it's merely a potential cost factor that comes with the luxury of using the tech)

and one of those considers Marc's client a turkey "murderer"... (and by implication, Marc an accessory? an accomplish? or mere defender of a Guilty Party?)

Your comment was more well-timed than you know and appreciated
