The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same
[Note:No, I'm not back, but I wanted to post this interview with Milton Friedman. I think it's indicative of how things have not changed one bit other than there is a greater taking and more plundering with the "government" weapon. Milton Friedman's statements and observations show how free enterprise is supposed to work without invasion from the people doing business as government, and the results for when it they do. He uses the word "voluntary," frequently, but does believe in "government," but I think his statements as to what happens by their interference opens a line of discussion that could be utilized to show obvious cons (pun intended) of people doing business as government and the need to evolve from the "there HAS to be a government" belief system. It's amazing that someone so "brilliant" (as is the rage) doesn't see government as being incapable of being anything but coercive.
I believe the value in seeing this interview is to hear the things that were going on at that time, and how agorism is the only proficient way to do commerce. There are many other things with this interview so take what you will. I've come across older videos from time to time that are interesting when compared to present times on a variety of levels, for a variety of reasons. Pay particular attention to Part 3, at time point 0:50 - - 3:13 Side note: If anyone has Netflix, check out Born Rich and The One Percent. If you have the time, a book called Tragedy & Hope Hope you enjoy! ~Nomos] Part 1. Part 2. Part 3. Re: The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same
Is it voluntary? The State/government fiction has no support. The people pretending to be law makers have no voluntary support. There is no principle-agent relationship. Fraud vitiates contracts, agreements and judgements.
The thought of how far the human race would have advanced absent initiatory force staggers the imagination. THE POINT: Unlike the government thief, a common thief doesn't claim his "craft" is honest. Lawyer-like dishonesty a point: The common thief is honest when he tells you he's robbing you. |
