Re: Somalia - the "A" word
Heh heh heh. Do I hear global political interests rustling the leaves behind the hut? First it was the British Empire screwing with Africans, now it's the U.S. Empire. Sure will be nice all around when this one collapses, too. I hope the Chinese don't then take over. But it's only black peoples lives and blood, so nothing to be terribly concerned about. (That was SERIOUS SARCASM, in case there is any confusion on the issue.)

Re: Somalia - the "A" word
Michael van Notten, in 1993, made these comments which I think exemplify the idea of individual sovereignty as exemplified by anarchy:
Quote:** The UN thought that the Somali soldiers are being commanded by Aideed. Second amendment anyone? Of the people, by the people and for the people? - NonE "I just don't understand how this happens."

Re: Somalia - the "A" word
"Every soldier is his own general, defending his freedom and tribal culture as he sees fit."
Sorry, but gotta (again) paraphrase/quote Robert Anton Wilson, "There is no governor..." ;D Also anyone notice the casual, almost accidental mention of the "African Union" wtf? United currency and police force yet? or are they just working on it... Damn you anarchist-hearted Somalians, bend over and submit to the coercive violence that we are trying to impose on you in the name of peace and safety! +_+ |
