Do It! Vote! (Actually, please don't! PLEASE.)
Quote:Who is responsible for that exercise of political power? ...As a voter Oberwetter can find a politician willing to accommodate her. Her representative can conspire with other representatives to impose her will on her employer by force. Her representative is accountable to her and she is not accountable to anyone. It's a neat trick. - from "Power Without Accountability" by John T. Kennedy Comments (some quite thought-provoking) |

Our modern civic religion insists upon our participation in ballot-boxing, but itâs not justified. There are many traditions which take a much different path, and these lead to a libertarian vision of a free society wherein people are interconnected through tradition, compact and contract with coercion either minimized or eliminated completely. Let me expound on a prominent one: Calvinism. ...Living under a sinful government (and this certainly includes all governments to one extent or other) leaves a Christian obligated to one of two alternatives: 1) breaking the government of sin through resistance/overthrow or secession; or 2) turning your back on all contact with government. The first alternative is that of a revolutionary response and clearly one of the reasons for the support of the American Revolutionary War. The second response, shunning, was practiced by many of the members Reformed Churches, although now mostly by Amish, Mennonites and Doukobors. This second response was a fundamental underpinning of why the Reformation is responsible for the phenomenal rise of the prosperity in countries where Protestantism was prominent. Not through participation in the government, but through avoiding and ignoring the state, not participating or supporting the government in any way possible. - Posted by: Ken Gregg on Nov 18, 03 | 2:17 pm * WARNING: do NOT read the aforementioned posting by the illogical collectivist "brooke", unless you are willing to sustain serious abdominal injury caused by excessive LOL. - - - More painfully articulate musings can be found at the No Treason Voting Archive, including the wisdom of "V" |

Yes, and for a particularly wicked satire of this whole concept, see the South Park Season 8 episode "Douche and Turd." |

Voting scam: Greg Palast's latest exposee...

Simon sez. <-- fyi, that's DVORAK's blog -- so it actually might be quite heavy traffic, that is, if the damn Wordpress database problem clears up ... Cuz oops, looks like I -- ha ha -- crashed Dvorak's server -- musta had an anti-Spooner censorship filter or something. In case it "disappears"...) Quote:Here's the solution. And it's REALLY REALLY simple. UPDATE: *yay*, it looks like the ComedyCentral website has the video again (though it's gone from Youtube, natch.) -- and chatting with Jon Stewart as well |

Re: Do It! Vote! (Actually, please don't! PLEASE.)
Well, the fix is in (of course)... for some reason They decided now is the time to "release the myth hounds"...
Quote:Hillary Rodham Clinton has jumped to an astounding 33-point lead over Barack Obama, topping her main rival among every major slice of the electorate and widening a dominating advantage she has held all summer.http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,299274,00.html It was pretty obvious "the black guy" would not be getting The Highest Post (considering how the MSM has mocked his youth, his drug use, his history of speaking in "white/professional" sometimes and "black/street" other times, etc.) ... and with the new season of "24" around the corner with a woman president, this should not be a shock to anyone. The only real question now is, how soon before an alleged "national survey" declares Rudy or McCain to be "supported by a full majority"? Maybe Shrillary will pick Ron Paul as Veep?

Re: Do It! Vote! (Actually, please don't! PLEASE.)
...or maybe not; maybe she's a "token democrat" who will be "popularity down-sized" (to ensure the neo-cons continue their reign of terror) shortly before the November 2008 election? via this?
this video "takes a good, hard look at the dirty dealings of both Bill and Hillary Clinton but, for some reason, never achieved the popularity of Michael Mooreâs fantasy film, Fahrenheit 911. This movie has been thoroughly suppressed by our left-wing media to the point that itâs not listed on IMDb, nor can you find anything about it through a Google search. That will change now that itâs been made available on Google Videos. Watch and learn how the Clintons turned the White House into a headquarters for organized crime, communist spying and murder." :o |
