Star Government-mafia similarity
A bit of singing to the choir.
Quote:MICHAEL: My father made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

KAY: What was that?

MICHAEL: Luca Brasi held a gun to his head, and my father assured him that either his brains -- or his signature -- would be on the contract.

When the government makes a demand of a person, what's the end result of persistent non compliance? Death.

Also, mere non-compliance, such as not complying with illicit-drug laws can result in paramilitary SWAT home invasions killing innocent people. After the dust settles from the government's extreme violence, it goes to court where it becomes cordial with phrases like, "my esteemed colleague" and "the honorable judge Smith"".

The thought of how far the human race would have advanced absent initiatory force
staggers the imagination.

THE POINT: Unlike the government thief, a common thief doesn't claim his "craft" is honest.
Lawyer-like dishonesty a point: The common thief is honest when he tells you he's robbing you.
