Excellent point. And how'd that work out? There's nothing magical about an oath, contract, whatever. They come under the heading: "talk (writing) is cheap." As for our friend hazek, I think the band Off Broadway said it best in song:

"I should have listened to the almanac
It said that I should stay in bed..."

What I find interesting is that while hazek has never openly admitted that he eats babies, he hasn't signed any sort of document stating that he doesn't.

One then can only assume that he has not because he refuses, and he refuses because he does in fact eat babies.

Dio said it. The problem with your idea is that it's just like the legislature: way behind the curve of the present. The market adjusts INSTANTLY, but getting EVERYONE to sign ONE document held in trust by ONE corporation.... yeah, we're the hypocritical sounding one.

This is what we actually meant:
(righteously) "We are for the non aggression principle!" (Truthfully) "And we live it right now and extend it to others in respect."
(righteously) "We are against stealing!" (Truthfully) "And we live it right now and extend it to others in respect."
(righteously) "We are against violating our privacy!" (Truthfully) "And we live it right now and extend it to others in respect."
(righteously) "We are for freedom to do with our body what we want!" (Truthfully) "And we live it right now and extend it to others in respect."
ect.

I'm not so personally insulted as Dio seemed to be; mostly just saddened at this gross outburst. You didn't appear to take any time to consider whether what you got came from a perspective you didn't already hold, which is pathetic, if you're asking for other people's input on something. So you were excited because you felt you had thought up a great idea. Big whoop. Zonsb is right. Did you think this forum was a large enough beta-test ground for an idea which is supposed to be espoused by 7 billion people?

Get real, mate. And remember this: the FACT is that the document isn't the contract. It's the RECORD of the contract. The fact is what occurred, but it may go unrecorded. Doesn't change that it's still a fact, just means it's not demonstrable to anyone who wasn't personally there. Otherwise "personal, first-hand knowledge" wouldn't be more useful and valuable than or distinct from "hearsay."

And the FACT is, those things are already occurring in our lives, absent such a piece of paper. Get your FACTS straight before you so childishly cry "hypocrisy!"

One shouldn't believe everything one thinks.

hazek, it's obvious you don't like the response to your idea. It's okay to not like things.

Lawyer-like dishonesty a point: The common thief is honest when he tells you he's robbing you.
