Greetings
I live in central Iowa .... have been listening for over a year now. I have more confidence in Marc and others that call in to the show that this is the way to change courts and society (which I know is just a concept). Any other Iowan out there ?
Also I am counsel member of a small town (it is a defensive act not a authoritarian thing) Looking for ideas for bring the rest of the members around to our way of thinking. Any suggestions ? thanks |

Having been screwed royally by the city planners, one thing I would suggest is to attempt to remove all zoning regulations, and to approve all variances. The property I invested my entire life's energies into was made virtually worthless by a zoning board who were making things easy for the "tied in" developers. One of the things that was really funny was that they said I couldn't use my building because it didn't have enough parking. It was an old building built to the lot lines. It didn't have ANY parking. So they said that if I put enough parking INSIDE the building to satisfy their demands, THEN they'd approve my use. It so happened that it was physically impossible to put that many cars inside the building, even if I turned the entire building into a parking garage. I spent months and months playing the appeals game with them. After I finally got them to back off because one of them started feelign sorry for me I went ahead put more into the building than I'd paid for it (in renovations to satisfy my needs and their demands), got my self deep in debt, then they changed the zoning so that the building could not be sold for any economically viable use. They ended up putting up a huge sports stadium two blocks away and that dictated what the entire neighborhood could do with their property. Burning in hot oil would be too good a thing for those city officials. I would say that you might consider emulating Ron Paul, who is known as Dr. NO for rejecting any bill which is not strictly constitutional, which of course almost all of them aren't. But again.... WELCOME! ;-) - NonE "I just don't understand how this happens."
